Washington, Mar 7 (Prensa Latina) The reintroduction of a bipartisan bill by five US lawmakers legislators to have the blockade against Cuba lifted has become an example of the efforts to establish normal relations between the two countries.

Democratic Senators Amy Klobuchar, Chris Murphy and Elizabeth Warren joined Republican Lawmakers Roger Marshall and Jerry Moran to present the initiative, which seeks to break the blockade imposed on Cuba by Washington for more than 60 years.

According to a statement released on Klobuchar’s official website, the Freedom to Export to Cuba Act would create new economic opportunities for US businesses and farmers by boosting exports and giving Cubans more access to US products.

‘It’s time for us to normalize relations with Cuba. This bill takes important steps to remove barriers to trade and relations between the two countries and moves us in the right direction by increasing economic opportunities for Americans and the Cuban people,’ Warren said.
