The Aula Magna of the University of Havana (UH) on Thursday hosted the graduation ceremony of 109 Ph.D professionals corresponding to 27 training programs, of which 47 are foreigners.
The graduates had gone through a rigorous teaching process in several specialties of this House of Higher Studies, rectored by the Vice Rectory of Graduate Studies for over four years, with on-site and online actions due to the Covid-19 pandemic.
Of those, 61 are Cuban university professionals from the almost three-hundred-year-old University of Havana, 29 are full-time professors here and 32 are part of the teaching staff of other educational centers in the country.
The University’s international cooperation shows further value by awarding their diplomas to new Ph.D. professionals from Spain, China, Angola, Bolivia, Colombia and Ecuador.
Speaking at the ceremony, Alejandro Gonzalez, Ph.D. in Juridical Sciences, expressed his gratitude for the support received during those years of hard studies by those professors in charge of guiding them in the fulfillment of their goals and dreams.
The fact that we are now new Ph.D. professionals commits us even more to defend the work of the Revolution, Gonzalez concluded.
