Syria and Cuba address prospects for trade cooperation

The mechanisms and possibilities for economic and trade cooperation were the center of talks in this capital between Cuban Ambassador to Syria, Luis Mariano Fernández, and Abdula Huda Laham, president of the Federation of Chambers of Commerce.
Fernández highlighted the excellent relations between the two nations and the need to take concrete steps so that economic cooperation and commercial exchanges reach the same level as the excellent relations in the political and diplomatic fields.
We call on all companies and entrepreneurs in Syria to take advantage of the facilities granted for investments in Cuba.
Laham, in turn, suggested more participation in the economic fairs and events held in both countries to create more exchanges among entrepreneurs.
Usama Mostafa, lawmaker and Chairman of the Chamber of Commerce in Rural Damascus, a province with more than 70,000 factories and companies, expressed interest in the Cuban market and in achieving cooperation. He expressed his willingness to improve contacts between entrepreneurs of both countries.
The export of textiles, clothing, sweets, and olive oil to Cuba and charcoal, generic medicines, and vaccines to Syria were under discussion during the meeting.
