“As a traveler, I publicly complain that the U.S. refused to grant me an entry visa because I visited Cuba”, Roman Hereter said Saturday to the Congress of the Spanish Federation of Journalists and Tourism Writers (FEPET), held in this resort city and attended by more than 40 participants from different Spanish localities.

“Traveling is a human right and it is unfair to use unilateral and extraterritorial measures against Spaniards who visit Cuba and ban them from going to the U.S.”, stressed the Spanish professor.

Jaume Singla, another participant in FETEP, said on TV that he is honored to visit Cuba and praised the development of tourism in the last 30 years for the benefit of the island as a safe and hospitable destination where people are supportive and friendly, which ratifies the Caribbean nation as unique.

FEPET addresses topics such as the training of new communities in tourism and food services, Cuba's presence at the International Tourism Fair (FITUR) in Spain, and the curious and remarkable history of bullfighting in Cuba.

Minister of Tourism Juan Carlos García Granda highlighted that Cuba bears no comparison with other destinations because it is the victim of a U.S. siege that prevents American citizens and cruise ships from traveling to the Island and tampers with the island’s attempts to engage in any financial transaction, among other unfair measures.
