The album Ancestros Sinfónico (Symphonic Ancestors) of Sintesis band, Eme and X Alfonso, won the Grand Prize at the Cubadisco 2023 International Award.

In the category of Son and Peasant Tradition, the winner was the album Memorias (Memories), of Pancho Amat y su Cabildo del Son. The awards were presented last night at the gala held at the Avellaneda Hall of the National Theater in this capital.

Other first prize winners were Rolando Luna for Mi alma en canciones (My soul in songs), in the Instrumental category, and Los Muñequitos de Matanzas with the record 70 Years of Rumba Power, in the Rumbera Tradition and Ritual categories.

Meanwhile, Batanga, by El Nene y la Orquesta Estrellas de Areito, won first place in Traditional Varied.

Other winners were Habana in the grand manner, by Ernán López-Nussa, in Jazz; A veces a voces (Sometimes, voices), by Anaís Abreu, Ivette Cepeda, Yaima Sáez and Isis Flores, in the Song category; and the Buena Fe duo with their album Morada, in Contemporary Song.

The musical event closes this Sunday with a concert by the National Symphony Orchestra with Marta Gomez at the Covarrubias Hall, also at the National Theater of Cuba, an excellent proposal that will put an end to the biggest party of the recording industry in the Caribbean nation.
