Havana, May 31 (JIT) - Slugger Pedro Pablo Revilla signed a one-year contract with the Chunichi Dragons in Japanese professional baseball (NPB).

The signing took place at the Havana Sports City Coliseum, in the presence of Juan Reinaldo Pérez Pardo, president of the Cuban Baseball Federation.

Revilla, who was satisfied with the at least one-year link, has just completed an outstanding offensive campaign with the Guantanamo Indians, in Cuban baseball.

In the regular season he batted .313 with nine doubles and 26 home runs (leader), in addition to 55 runs batted in and 51 runs scored.

The intention is for Revilla to join the Japanese franchise, which is currently in fourth place in the NPB Central League with a record of 23 wins and 27 losses, as soon as possible.

Other athletes from the island are playing in the Japanese club, including Ariel Martínez, Yariel Rodríguez and Raidel Martínez, contracted through the FCB and active in the main team.
