The world-famous Greek composer Mikis Theodorakis expressed his support to the initiative of awarding the Nobel Peace Prize to the Henry Reeve Cuban medical brigade, as reported by the support organization in Greece.

Velissarios Kossivakis, administrator of the Greek Team for the Nobel Prize to Cuban doctors 2021, sent Prensa Latina a communication in which he expresses special emotion for the response of the renowned musician to the actions to obtain support.

Theodorakis, who turned 95-years-old last July 29th, responds with his adherence to the campaign to honor the brigade 'that reached out to the peoples who have needed it, always based on the principles of real solidarity and humanist values.'.

Kossivakis added that the Greek Team, which is 'an enthusiastic defender of the Cuban revolution, and a friend of Che, Fidel and Raul Castro,' welcomed the signature as a gift to the Cuban people.

He cited statements by the author of more than a thousand songs, hymns, operas and many other highly recognized musical pieces, when he said that 'The Cuban Revolution is a shining example for the peoples of the world, pointing the way of the struggle for independence and their liberation from the clutches of imperialism.'

He added that the support of Theodorakis, whose music unites the peoples and illuminates their battles throughout the world, is made clear with his signature, by adding his voice to that of other 75,000 Greeks who have endorsed the request so far.
