Cuban Prime Minister Manuel Marrero, who is on an official visit to Belarus, today visited the MTZ tractor factory, where he learned about the different models and their capabilities, BelTA news agency reported. leader was specifically interested in the Belarus 622 small tractor and the Belarus 1523.3 universal tractor, and inquired whether they could be produced in the Caribbean nation in a cooperative way.

According to MTZ general director Vitali Vovk, the possibility of organizing the production and assembly of these tractors in Cuba is being considered, due to the experience of Cuban farmers in their use.

Marrero stressed that in principle the authorities of his country are interested in the Belarusian experience in full-cycle agro-industrial production.

For his part, the deputy general director of MTZ, Mikhail Kadnikov, said that the Minsk tractor plant has been operating in the Cuban market almost since its foundation, and this is evidenced by the fleet of machinery that currently exists in Cuba, which amounts to 75,000 tractors, of which more than 45,000 are from Belarus.

Many units are already worn out, he noted, so major repairs and restorations are necessary. "In the city of Holguin there is a large and specialized enterprise, where we consider we can restore such equipment," he added.

Kadnikov recalled that MTZ has also developed projects for the assembly of small-sized equipment for farms and the possibility of bartering is being considered.

In addition, he explained, the Cuban side may be interested in equipment already in use for rice cultivation and also for working with sugar cane, which occupies half of Cuba's agricultural land.

As part of his official visit to Belarus, Manuel Marrero Cruz, Prime Minister of Cuba, talked this Friday with members of the solidarity with the Island, as well as a representation of Cubans living in that country.

Through his X account, the Head of Government highlighted the many tokens of love for Cuba expressed in the emotional meeting. In what was his first day in Belarus, the Cuban Premier held meetings with Alexandr Lukashenko, President of the European nation, and with his counterpart Roman Golovchenko.

The Cuban Premier arrived on an official visit to Belarus on November 9, and on the second day he met with the President of the Slavic nation, Alexander Lukashenko, Prime Minister Roman Golovchenko, and the leaders of both chambers of parliament, as well as with friends of solidarity.
