Pyongyang, July 14, 2025 — Kim Jong Un, President of the Democratic People’s Republic of Korea, sent a message of congratulations to the government and people of Nicaragua on the 46th anniversary of the triumph of the Sandinista Revolution.

In his statement, addressed to Nicaraguan leaders Daniel Ortega and Rosario Murillo, Kim Jong Un expressed his greetings and extended his congratulations to the nation.

"On the occasion of the 46th anniversary of the victory of the Sandinista Popular Revolution, I extend my warm congratulations to you and, through you, to the government and people of your country," the message read.

The communication also conveyed wishes for success to Nicaragua’s top leaders in their efforts to defend national sovereignty and advance the country’s socioeconomic development.

On July 19, 1979, Nicaragua marked the triumph of the third and last armed revolution in Latin America and the Caribbean, following those of Mexico (1910) and Cuba (1959). The victory of the Sandinista National Liberation Front (FSLN) ended 45 years of exploitation under the Somoza military dictatorship.
