Healthcare workers stage strikes in Chile

Santiago de Chile, Nov 12 (Prensa Latina) Healthcare workers Thursday protested in this capital to demand the government and the Ministry of health to fulfill their commitments to those who are on the front line to fight Covid-19.

At noon, hundreds of healthcare workers gathered at Baquedano Square, as part of a national stopagge that began on Thursday and will continue through Saturday.

The strike, called by the National Federation of Health Workers (FENATS), includes all services of Public Attention, Assistance Networks and Primary Health Care and Hospitals, among other agencies.

After gathering at Baquedano Square, the demonstrators marched all over the main avenue heading the Ministry of Health.

One of the demands is closely related to insufficient resources allocated to public health, an issue that has been systematically condemned.
