Havana, Sep 27 (Prensa Latina) The Organizing Committee of the 43rd International Festival of New Latin American Cinema of Havana convened a Meeting on Market and Distribution, to be held from December 5 to 7.

According to the information, the meeting is part of the industry section of the film festival and aims to document the creators on what to do after the conclusion of the film to achieve the desired visibility.

For this purpose, the agencies Urban Sales (France), Punctum Sales (Argentina), and Marvin&Wayne Short Films (Spain) joined the project, which will choose up to 15 films to compete in the fiction/animation, feature documentary, short fiction/documentary/animation categories.

The initiative, sponsored by the French Embassy in Cuba and the Solidarity Fund for Innovative Projects, seeks to encourage debate among Cuban filmmakers and producers due to the importance of the issue and the fact that it has not been approached from an academic point of view.

“The films selected will be able to present their projects through pitching sessions to the above-mentioned commercial agencies, which will choose three of these nominees (one per category) to begin a direct collaboration,” the press release explained.
