Ciego de Avila, Cuba, Nov 9 (Prensa Latina) A repair process and maintenance of generators continues today in the central region of Cuba contributing to electricity generation ahead of the complex energy situation Cuba is presently going through.

Specialists from Generating Groups and Electric Services (GEYSEL) and Generating Group Maintenance Firms that operate with fuel oil (EMGEF) of Ciego de Avila are working on the recovery of generators.

GEYSEL’s Director-General in Ciego de Ávila Mayumi Veloso said these repairs will help increase by about three megawatts (MW).

Veloso added that by the end of the year they will count on an eighth engine, which will generate 11.28 MW. Meanwhile, EMGEF’s Business Unit Director Kiurlis Romero said that the Ciego Norte and Chambas sites will recover 1.7 MW, as two generators come into operation.
