French PCF and Cuba to strengthen relations at L’Humanité Festival

French Communist Parties (PCF) and Communist Party of Cuba (PCC) have tightened their ties at the L'Humanité Festival, a traditional political-cultural forum that closed its doors on Sunday in Paris.

At the PCF stand, its National Secretary Fabien Roussel received Yoerky Sanchez, member of the PCC Central Committee and head of the Cuban delegation to the Festival.

Deputies also discussed the impact of the economic, commercial and financial blockade the United States has imposed on Cuba for more than 60 years, a policy that has been tightened amid the Covid-19 pandemic.

Regarding the pandemic, Sanchez provided the French communist leader with information on Cuba´s home-grown vaccines, which 90% of the Cuban population was immunized with, including the children.

Roussel and Sanchez also debated on the economic and energy situation in Cuba, worsened by Washington’s hostile blockade.
