Havana, Jul 22 (Prensa Latina) Cuban President Miguel Díaz-Canel reiterated today the search for revolutionary and socialist solutions as a response to the difficulties faced by the country due to the intensified U.S. blockade.
On his Twitter, the president said “in the face of the imperial logic of suffocating the Cuban economy to destroy the Revolution, the enemy must know that the greater the challenges, our response is more Revolution and more socialism”.
In this way, he repeated what was stated the day before during the parliamentary session by the Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Economy and Planning, Alejandro Gil Fernandez, who gave a detailed report before the deputies on the performance of the economy in the first half of the year.
Gil Fernandez also presented a package of 70 measures – which were approved by the deputies – to advance in the recovery of the economy, involving state and non-state enterprises, the budget sector and others directly linked to the population.
Among the latter, he announced the reestablishment of the foreign exchange trading market, including the dollar in cash, whose entry into force will be announced at a later date, and relaxations for non-commercial imports by individuals and reductions in customs tariffs.
He assured that “no one will get tired here, no one will give up. The greater the challenges, our answer is more Revolution and more socialism. We will advance and we will win”.
