Diaz-Canel receives Secretary-General of the OEI

Havana, March 25 (RHC)- Cuban President Miguel Díaz-Canel received on Thursday at the Palace of the Revolution Mariano Jabonero, Secretary-General of the Organization of Ibero-American States (OEI), on a visit to the island.
Diaz Canel said on Twitter that during the meeting, he thanked the OEI for its contribution to the promotion of education, science, and culture in Ibero-America and that they agreed on the need to promote inclusive cooperation.
On Thursday, Jabonero also met with the Minister of Education, Ena Elsa Velazquez, with whom he signed an agreement that will make possible the opening of an OEI office in Havana.
He also held meetings with the Minister of Foreign Affairs, Bruno Rodríguez Parrilla, the Minister of Higher Education, José Ramón Saborido.
The Organization of Ibero-American States is an international organization made up of 23 members states of Iberophone nations in Europe and the Americas and one member in Africa. The OEI's membership is composed of all of the sovereign states of Ibero-America and the Iberian Peninsula, and Equatorial Guinea.
