Venezuela explains strategic nature of military exercise

Venezuela's Minister of Defense, General in Chief Vladimir Padrino, explained today the strategic nature of the Bolivarian Shield Exercise 2025, to be carried out throughout the country in defense of peace and democracy.

This new popular-military-police exercise will be carried out on January 22 and 23 “with a superlative strategic, operational and tactical level,” the vice president for Political Sovereignty, Security and Peace stated in a press release.

Padrino explained that the interoperability between organized people, military units and Citizen Security Bodies will be optimized in its different phases, deploying with greater synchronization multiple weapons systems and mixed Rapid Reaction Units.

The general in chief pointed out that “operations that guarantee the military defense and the internal order of the country” will be put into practice.

Besides ensuring the functioning of basic services and the security of strategic installations, “at the same time we will make our cities and borders impregnable throughout the national geographic space,” he affirmed.

“The sons and daughters of (Simon) Bolívar and (Hugo) Chavez do not rest in their irreducible commitment to safeguard the dignity, freedom, sovereignty and independence of our beloved homeland,” he stated.

Padrino declared the “unfathomable pride” that the entire nation has started a new year marked by the triumph of democracy and institutionality.
