Cuba’s Moinelo ratified as Latin leader among Japan’s relievers

Tokyo, Jul 22 (Prensa Latina) Cuban player Livan Moinelo got his 13th save and confirmed himself as the leader in that section among Latin American pitchers in the Japanese baseball league.

Moinelo allowed no hits and no runs in a one inning performance, in which he struck out two and gave up one walk in the victory of the SoftBank Falcons, 7 runs by 5, against the Orix Buffaloes.

That rescue placed him in fifth place among all Pacific League pitchers, although his ERA (0.88) is better than those ahead of him on the list.

His compatriot, Alfredo Despaigne, contributed to the victory by batting 4-1, with a double, a walk and a run batted in, and Yurisbel Gracial, also from Cuba, went 5-1.
