Cuban Revolution is highlighted in Argentina

The Cuban Revolution continues to be the beacon that lights up our struggle for a better world, said Rubén Zaccaro, president of the House of Friendship between Argentina and Cuba, in Buenos Aires.
During an event commemorating the 66th anniversary of the triumph of January 1, 1959, Zaccaro highlighted the ties that unite both peoples and the legacy of figures such as the historic leader Fidel Castro (1926-2016) and the National Hero of the Caribbean country, José Martí (1853-1895).
We are in a stage of struggle. Let us not be distressed by the vicissitudes we are experiencing. Cuba continues to show us that it is possible to confront an empire and that it is possible to change things, he said. For his part, the second head of the Cuban diplomatic mission in Argentina, Leonardo Baster, thanked the support of the Solidarity Movement of this nation over the years and the efforts made to ensure that the largest of the Antilles was excluded from a US list of alleged sponsors of terrorism.
Less than a week after the decision of former President Joe Biden, the new president (Donald Trump) again added us to that spurious list. Although unjustified, this did not take us by surprise and at no time did we assume it as a defeat. The Revolution, since its triumph, has faced aggressions of the United States, but the word surrender does not exist for us, he asserted.
There is no argument that justifies this measure. On the contrary, my country was a victim of terrorism that spread beyond its borders and as part of which officials and diplomats such as Jesús Cejas and Crescencio Galañena were murdered here in Argentina, he added.
He also pointed out that Washington’s objective is to continue with the old desire to overthrow the revolutionary process and deepen the economic, commercial and financial blockade imposed more than six decades ago.
Although some promote violence and hatred, we will continue to defend love and brotherhood among peoples, as well as the values that identify us. We must not give up. The enemy threatens us at all times because it is afraid of our ideas and of what we are capable of achieving. We will continue to fight with the example of those who gave their lives for a just cause, he concluded.
