Cubans pay posthumous tribute to prominent revolutionary

Havana, Jul 16 (Prensa Latina) The first secretary of the Central Committee of the Communist Party of Cuba (PCC), Miguel Diaz-Canel, on Saturday headed, along with members of the secretariat of that organization, the first guard of honor to Commander Jose Ramon Balaguer, who died on Friday.
According to the PCC’s Twitter, the members of the Political Bureau Roberto Morales and Army Corps General Alvaro Lopez Miera, as well as relatives, friends and work colleagues also participated in the posthumous tribute to the outstanding revolutionary.
Balaguer’s ashes are being displayed today at the veterans’ pantheon at Colon Cemetery, in this capital, and will be transferred later to the mausoleum of the combatants of the 2nd Frank Pais Eastern Front, in Santiago de Cuba.
