Cuban singer songwriter Eduardo Sosa suffers a stroke

Renowned Cuban singer songwriter Eduardo Sosa suffered a serious stroke during his stay in the eastern province of Guantanamo, Marta Bonet, president of the Union of Writers and Artists of Cuba (UNEAC), informed on Tuesday.    

Sosa was participating in the cultural project known as Cruzada Teatral and as vice president of UNEAC in the debates and analysis of the agreements of the organization’s recent 10th Congress.

According to Bonet, the 52-year-old artist remains in intensive care and the prognosis is reserved, after undergoing surgery.

The UNEAC in Guantánamo indicated that the next hours will be decisive and it will be necessary to wait for the reaction of his organism, after a surgery that fulfilled its objective.

On social media, there are many comments of encouragement and solidarity from artists, intellectuals, friends and admirers of the popular singer songwriter, who was born in Santiago de Cuba.
