Cuban President Miguel Díaz-Canel visited the José Martí Steel Company to corroborate the progress of one of the most important investment processes in the country.
From his Twitter account, the president recalled when he visited in 2018 that institution – known as Antillana de Acero – and the deterioration was remarkable, while at present there is a total change.
Likewise, he pointed out that investments due to a credit from Russia of more than 100 million dollars are going well, and soon that factory will be contributing to the national economy.
President Díaz-Canel explained that after his last visit to Moscow, some processes that had paralyzed the investment approved in 2017 were unblocked, as quoted in the Presidency´s Twitter account.
The head of State also toured the company’s Electric Steelmaking workshop, where the upgrading of equipment is evident, after years of their deterioration.
