Cuban president receives credentials of new ambassadors in Havana

Havana, July 7 (RHC)-- Cuban President Miguel Díaz-Canel received Thursday the letters of accreditation in Havana for the new ambassadors of Nicaragua, Suriname, Chile, Laos, New Zealand, Nauru, Senegal, Albania and Kenya.

In a solemn audience, the President confirmed the documents of Alejandro José Solís Martínez, representative of Nicaragua; Wendy Manushka Paulus-Aminta, of Suriname; and Patricia Joan Esquenazi Marin, of Chile.

The Cuban Foreign Ministry website reports that the head of state also greeted Vanhtha Sengmeuang, ambassador of the Lao People's Democratic Republic; Sara Meymand, from New Zealand; and Margo Reminisse Deiye, from Nauru.

He also received the credentials of Viviane Laure Elisabeth Bampassy, diplomat from Senegal; Ferit Hoxha, from the Republic of Albania; and Gathoga Wanyoike Chege, ambassador of Kenya.

Accompanying Díaz-Canel was Cuba's Acting Minister of Foreign Affairs, Gerardo Peñalver Portal.

At the conclusion of each ceremony, the heads of mission laid a wreath at the monument to José Martí (1853-1895), our National Hero, in the Plaza of the Revolution that bears his name, in the Cuban capital.
