The expressions of affection for the man who was considered by Fidel Castro as "Cuba's best friend" stand out here on the occasion of today's 11th anniversary of the Venezuelan and world leader's death.

Cuban President Miguel Diaz-Canel wrote in X that his generation will always celebrate the opportunity of living the time of two giants of the Revolution and Latin American integration: Fidel Castro and Hugo Chavez.

“Eleven years after the physical departure of “Cuba’s best friend”, our emotional embrace to Venezuela”, the President of Cuba highlighted.

On the same social network, the president of the National People’s Power Assembly (parliament), Esteban Lazo, ratified that the revolutionary’s legacy endures in the brotherhood between the Cuban and Venezuelan peoples, in the Bolivarian and integrationist ideal in the Patria Grande, and in the just causes of humanity.

The Cuban Foreign Minister, Bruno Rodriguez, said in that digital platform that the example of the Venezuelan leader will guide the struggle and resistance (of Cuba and Venezuela) against the attempts of US imperialism to destroy the Bolivarian Revolution and undermine the unity of our America.

The former President of the Bolivarian Republic of Venezuela (1999-2013), Hugo Chávez (1954-2013) professed broad sympathy and affinity with the Cuban revolutionary process and its leadership, especially with Commander in Chief Fidel Castro, whom he considered as a father.
