Cuban Foreign Minister Bruno Rodriguez has denounced the genocide perpetrated by the Israeli government in the Gaza Strip, particularly against children.

On X, Rodriguez quoted reports by the United Nations Relief and Works Agency for Palestine Refugees in the Near East (UNRWA) supporting his stand, and accused the US administration of being in cahoots with the Israeli perpetrators.

Rodriguez wrote, “At least 100 children are killed or injured daily in Gaza, according to UNRWA, due to the airstrikes and the military offensive resumed by the Israeli army in the Strip.” He noted, “It is part of the extermination conceived by Israel against the Palestinian people, with support of the US government.”

In one of its latest reports, the United Nations Children’s Fund (UNICEF) echoes those figures of children killed or maimed since Israel resumed attacks in the Gaza Strip.

UNICEF also assures that the total number of children killed, after almost 18 months of war, exceeds 15,000, while the wounded amount to 34,000, and more than one million have been repeatedly displaced.

The UN agency indicated that the blockade on the entry of aid since March 2, the longest period of closure to basic supplies since the war started, has made food, clean water, shelter, and medical care increasingly scarce.
