The extraordinary legacy of Russian soprano and pedagogue Mariana de Gonitch (1900-1993), a dear friend of the Cuban Revolution, will be remembered during the cultural day between the two nations, which will be held in Havana on Oct. 14-18.

In a conversation with the Cuban News Agency, Maestro and lyric singer Hugo Osle, director of the Singing Academy that bears the name of the famous artist and her project Las Voces, explained that they will have the high responsibility of contributing to strengthen the cultural and historical ties that unite both nations during those days.

But in addition to remembering the figure of the Diva of St. Petersburg, whose 125th birthday will be celebrated on February 5, 2025, the Cuba-Russia cultural day will also be dedicated to the 65th anniversary of the Cuban Institute of Cinematographic Art and Industry (Icaic by its Spanish acronym).

Always accompanied by the magisterial conference Fidel Castro, Mariana de Gonitch and the Cuban Revolution, in charge of the own Osle, on October 14, at the Higher School of the Party Ñico Lopez, they will offer the first concert in which they will interpret emblematic songs such as Las noches de Moscow, Katyusha, Kalinka and Ojos negros.

That month the Academy and its project Las Voces, besides offering concerts to the public of the eastern province of Holguin, will give the Mariana de Gonitch Distinction to institutions and personalities linked to the cultural life of that province.

At the gala for the 505th anniversary of the founding of Havana, scheduled for November 15 at the University of Havana, the young people of the Mariana de Gonitch Singing Academy will also perform, Osle announced.
