Cuba reported 61 new Covid-19 cases and no deaths

Havana, May 20 (Prensa Latina) Cuba on Friday reported 61 new Covid-19 cases, all contacts of confirmed patients, 91 medical discharges and no deaths due to complications related to the disease in the last 24 hours.

According to the daily report from the Ministry of Public Health (MINSAP), 1,659 patients are in hospitals or at home nationwide, 1,307 of whom are suspected cases, 35 are under epidemiological surveillance and 317 are active cases.

At a press briefing on television, MINSAP added that the number of recovered patients rose to 1,095,986 (99.2 percent of all cases).

Of the active cases, 310 patients are clinically stable, while seven are being treated in intensive care units: three in a critical condition and four who are seriously ill.

So far, Cuba has accumulated 1,104,891 contagions since the outbreak of the pandemic in March 2020.

The death toll remains at 8,529, MINSAP reported.
