Cuban Authorities Stop Drug Trafficking Attempt
especiales

Authorities at José Martí International Airport in Havana stopped a drug trafficking attempt.
According to William Pérez, First Deputy Chief of the General Customs Office of the Republic, the detection was possible thanks to the expertise of X-ray equipment and the joint work of customs with the Anti-Drug Agency.
According to Cubadebate, images shared on social media about the incident show an attempt to "introduce narcotics onto the island inside a water pump and an electric shower."
These actions occur at a critical moment in the fight against this scourge in the nation. Cuba has reaffirmed its zero-tolerance policy toward drugs on several occasions and recently inaugurated a National Observatory with the purpose of eradicating this social evil and its consequences.
