Havana, Dec 28 (Prensa Latina) Cuba reported 145 new Covid-19 cases and no deaths on Tuesday, while 623 patients are in hospitals.

In its daily report, the Public Health Ministry (MINSAP) informed that the total number of contagions caused by the SARS-CoV-2 coronavirus, which causes Covid-19, reached 965,000 and the death toll reached 8,321.

As part of the epidemiological follow-up, 3,348 people have been admitted, 2,460 are suspected cases and 265 are under epidemiological surveillance.

Of the total number of cases, 90 were contacts of confirmed cases; 50 had a source of infection abroad, and in five case the source of infection was not confirmed, the report said.

A total of 15,544 samples were analyzed for diagnosis, so Cuba has performed 11,608,349 tests since the outbreak of the pandemic in March 2020.

In the last 24 hours, 74 patients were discharged from hospitals and 956,001 patients have already recovered, while 11 patients are being treated in intensive care units, including three in a critical condition and eight who are seriously ill.
