Cuba reaffirms its strong solidarity and principled support of the legitimate struggle of the Sahrawi people

The Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Cuba, Mr. Bruno Rodríguez Barrilla, reaffirmed his country’s strong solidarity with the Sahrawi Republic and its principled support for the legitimate struggle of the Sahrawi people, while praising the positions of support and assistance that the Sahrawi Republic has long expressed in support of Cuba, as the Cuban and Sahrawi peoples are closely linked by a common struggle.

This principled position was expressed during the meeting that brought together yesterday the Member of the National Secretariat and Minister of Foreign Affairs, Mr. Mohamed Sidati and the Cuban Minister of Foreign Affairs on the sidelines of the seventy-eighth regular session of the United Nations General Assembly, which concluded yesterday in New York.

During the meeting, the two ministers discussed ways to strengthen bilateral relations between the two brotherly countries in several fields. The latest developments in the Sahrawi issue were also discussed, and views were exchanged regarding other issues of common interest.
