Havana, Jul 4 (Prensa Latina) Cuba maintains a downward trend in Covid-19 cases thanks to the measures established and the level of immunization of the population using domestically-produced vaccines.

These results are evidenced by the report issued by the Cuban Ministry of Public Health, according to which 37 new cases were detected in the last few hours.

Only 141 citizens are currently suffering from the disease in Cuba, of which 138 are evolving stably. One patient remains in critical condition and two are reported serious.

Since the emergence of the pandemic in March 2020, 1,106,124 people have suffered the effects of the SARS-CoV-2 virus, while 1,076,395 recovered.

8,529 patients died of the disease for a 0.77 percent fatality rate, against 1.69 in the Americas and 1.15 worldwide.

In this context, the Ministry of Public Health reported that so far 7,405,890 people have received the Covid-19 booster dose, which proves the high level of immunization of the Cuban population.

He pointed out that 9,974,854, 90 percent of the population, have already completed the vaccination cycle.
