Cuba debuts with victory at the Caribbean Baseball Cup

The Cuban baseball team, made up of young talents, defeated Saint Martín 8-0 at the opening game of the 6th Caribbean Cup, which will be played in this capital until next Monday.
 
The team coached by Alexander Urquiola, who led the national under-15 team to win the silver medal at the 2022 Hermosillo World Cup, started firmly in their purpose of defending the crown they won in the latest edition, when Cuba broke the eight-year curse without winning a title in this sport.

The Cubans connected 12 hits on the grass of the Andre Rodgers stadium, against a debuting rival with little record in these competitions.

The winning pitcher was José Ignacio Bermúdez, who pitched five innings and stroke out ten batters, while Randy Martínez and Osdanis Rodríguez pitched one inning each.
