Cuba and India strengthen business links

New Delhi, March 23 (RHC)-- The Cuba Bureau at the Latin American and Caribbean Office of the Indian Economic Trade Organization (IETO) was inaugurated in the city of Hyderabad, a diplomatic source reported on Tuesday.
Cuban Ambassador to India Alejandro Simancas and IETO President Asif Iqbal participated in the opening ceremony of the center, which will promote trade and economic relations between the two countries.
Murthy Devarabhotla, the commercial commissioner of the Cuba Bureau, explained the purpose of exploring and identifying business, trade, and investment opportunities between Cuban and Indian companies.
Devarabhotla highlighted the strong potential of the city of Hyderabad, the capital of the Indian state of Telangana, one of the main industrial and technology centers in the country.
The source announced the preparation of an Indian business delegation that will visit Havana in late April.
The Cuban ambassador praised the efforts made by IETO to make the creation of this office a reality, which will be a benchmark in the development of relations and the traditional friendship between both peoples.
At the Cuba-India business event organized by IETO, Murthy Devarabhotla signed three memorandums of understanding with different Indian institutions to promote the commercialization of Cuban rum, tourism, and cultural relations.
