The meeting in Cairo stressed the importance of ending Israeli aggression to prevent further escalation in the region, while supporting Egypt’s historic position of a Palestinian State with 1967 borders, with East Jerusalem as its capital.

They also repudiated all attacks on the Palestinian holy sites, as well as the repeated attacks by the Israeli regime against Arab culture and identity.

The members of the committee condemned the Israeli violations of holy sites as a clear violation of international law and a dangerous escalation, and affirmed their rejection and condemnation of all Israeli policies aimed at changing the Arab identity, Islamic and Christian Jerusalem and its holy places», they expressed in the final communiqué.

Ahmed Aboul Gheit, secretary general of the Arab League, declared at a press conference that the ceasefire in Gaza is not only an Arab demand but a global and humanitarian need. While stressing that the potential for an extended war is imminent, he warned of its possible consequences for the entire region.

The representative of the organization of Arab nations stressed the rejection of the presence of Israeli forces on the border between Egypt and Gaza, and echoed the Egyptian position, which has the support of the Arab countries. He also expressed support for the Egyptian vision on the borders with the Palestinian side, emphasizing the need for a diplomatic solution to the conflict.

Egypt has consistently denounced the fact that any unilateral change in these borders by Israel is a violation of international law and UN resolutions, advocating that these limits be respected in any final peace agreement between Israel and Palestine.
