Zaida del Río in Fine Arts
especiales

Zaida del Río illuminates worlds. Stories that seem like the body of a dream. Characters of pulsating beauty. Captivating atmospheres. Zaida is the triumph of drawing. The celebration of the senses. Poetry glimpsed everywhere.
That’s the spirit of Aliento, the exhibition on display starting this Saturday in the Temporary Gallery of the Cuban Art Building of the National Museum of Fine Arts (MNBA).
There are 60 pieces—paintings, sculptures, and drawings—that celebrate the 2023 National Prize for Fine Arts of a deeply rooted artist, who has articulated one of the most recognized poetics in the Cuban cultural landscape.
Zaida is unmistakable. Zaida multiplies without losing her footing in a marked vocation for style.
Aliento offers a journey through the essential themes of her exuberant work, which has intertwined symbolism and everyday life in dreamlike environments. This is the artist's third solo exhibition at the National Museum of Natural History. It will be open until June 29.
