Amaury Perez will perform at the Los Pinos Cultural Complex in Mexico (+ Photo)

Mexico City, Jul 15 (Prensa Latina) The poet and singer-songwriter Amaury Perez returns to Mexico for a series of concerts, including on July 23 in tribute to Cuba's National Rebellion Day, the Ministry of Culture reported today.

His presentation is part of the festivities scheduled for Mexico City and other states for the 69th anniversary of the assault on the Moncada and Carlos Manuel de Cespedes barracks on July 26, 1953.

The concert in Los Pinos -the former presidential house- will be in the Heliport of the Cultural Complex sponsored by the Ministry of Culture.

Amaury said from Havana that he was very happy to return to this country after eight years.

The director of the Cultural Complex, Homero Fernandez Pedroza, who was accompanied by the cultural attaché of the Cuban Embassy here, Waldo Leyva, pointed out that a great effort is being made to create national and foreign cultural circuits, since the right to culture has no borders.

For his part, the poet Waldo Leyva thanked the Ministry of Culture and Los Pinos for organizing the day for Cuba, paying homage to July 26, “a date that is also Latin American.

Leyva recalled that Amaury is part of the nucleus that includes Silvio Rodriguez, Pablo Milanes, Noel Nicola, Vicente Feliu, Augusto Blanca and Sara Gonzalez, who created for Cuba, Latin America and for the culture of the Spanish language a song and poetry that transcends, sings to time, to the homeland and to the future.
