The Bolivarian Alliance for the Peoples of Our America-People's Trade Treaty (ALBA-TCP) announced that the 2022 Arts and Letters Awards will be known soon through its social networks, it was reported here today.
In a statement published the day before via Twitter, the General Secretariat of the Latin American and Caribbean integrationist block apologized for the inconvenience caused and was grateful for everyone’s participation and interest.
In an interview with Radio del Sur, the Bolivian politician pointed out that it will be possible to participate in poetry, radio, short story, short film script and song.
The secretary of the Bolivarian Alliance for the Peoples of Our America-People’s Trade Treaty said that 2023 will be the 200th anniversary of the implementation of the so-called Monroe Doctrine of ‘America for the Americans’.
Llorenti pointed out that this doctrine is colonizing and ‘is in permanent dispute’ with the Bolivarian, Marti, Sandinista doctrine and we believe that art expressions of poetry, essay, short story, short film and song are intended to analyze and culturally explore this dispute, he said.
He expressed that in painting and photography the theme is ‘very general’ and its main theme is called Our America, an essay written by José Martí in 1891.
The idea is ‘to see how our America and its diversity are seen through painting and photography,’ he stressed.
He said that in the design category they are requesting works to prepare the logo for the Fifth ALBA Sports Games, to be held from April 21 to 29 in Venezuela, and ‘we want designers to submit proposals’, he said.
The results of the contest were scheduled to be revealed in the first half of December 2022.
