Cuban musician Frank Fernandez to give concert to honor Jose Marti

He said he will share the stage with the Matanzas Symphony Orchestra, conducted by maestro Enrique Pérez Mesa, “which is a real privilege,” he added also highlighting that this one of the oldest groups of the country, but with young musicians as its members.
“I thank all the people involved in restoring this gem of the Cuban culture that transcends the borders of Matanzas and Cuba,” added Fernandez and confessed to being excited and happy to fulfill the dream of returning to play here after it was almost 16 years closed to the public.
He praised the acoustic that distinguished it and recalled the effort to acquire in 2003, a Steinway & Sons piano for orchestra, another dream that materializes for the good of Cuban culture.
The program for that day includes works by Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart, Jose White, Ernesto Lecuona and Frank Fernandez himself.
