Penelope Cruz to Star in Romantic Drama

“This Man, This Woman” will be presented to potential buyers at the European Film Market (EFM) to be held in February in Berlin simultaneously with the 65th edition of the Berlinale international film festival.

The film’s script was written by Frederic Raphael (“Eyes Wide Shut”) and deals with a couple who, after being separated for a time, run into one another again by chance on a plane flight, where they relive memories of their turbulent romance.

Cruz (who starred in “Vicky Cristina Barcelona”) has already worked with Coixet (“The Secret Life of Words”) in “Elegy” (2008).

“It feels like a minor miracle to finally bring this passion of mine to the screen and to put together this dream cast including the superbly talented Penelope Cruz and Diane Kruger, who are the perfect actresses to bring these multi-layered characters to life,” said producer Mike Lobell.

Coixet’s film “Nobody Wants the Night,” starring Juliette Binoche, will open this year’s edition of the Berlinale and is the moviemaker’s seventh film to be screened at the German festival.
