The 7th session of the talks between the European Union (EU) and Cuba continues today, presided over by Federica Mogherini, the High Representative for the Union for Foreign Affairs and Security Policy, and the Cuban Foreign Minister, Bruno Rodriguez. The aim of the meeting, part of the push to normalize relationships between the two political entities, is to discuss the final details of the Political Dialogue and Cooperation Agreement agreed on the 4th of March. Both sides have been in talks since April 2014.
The Cuban Deputy Foreign Minister, Abelardo Moreno, stated that Cuba and the EU have made considerable progresses on agreeing on the issues being discussed and all that remains is that the final document be ratified.
Moreno emphasized that the agreement respects the sovereignty, independence and territorial integrity of Cuba.
The bilateral agreement includes section on political dialogue and trade.
