Equatorial Guinea Praises Health Development Level in Cuba

Minister of Health and Social Welfare, Juan Ndong Nguema, praised the health development level in Cuba today, and called for expanding cooperation with Cuba in this sector. Such development is particularly marked in recent medicines that help to improve the quality of life or eradicate certain diseases such as diabetic foot ulcers, Ndong Nguema said after welcoming Cuban ambassador, Pedro Doña. He further considered as an achievement of the Cuban Revolution the increase of study centers to train health personnel, including research.

The Equatorial Guinean official recently traveled to Cuba leading a delegation to comply with an official visit invited by his peer, Roberto Morales.

Deputy Minister in charge of University Education at the Ministry of Education and Science, Maria Jesus Mcara Owono Mze, accompanied Ndong Nguema.

Dr. Mcara Owono Mze attended the Second International Conference "With All and for the Good of All," held in Havana on Jan. 25-28.

During her stay, both executives held meetings with officials of the Ministries of Health, Education, Higher Education, visited sites of interests, and exchanged on real possibilities to further expand cooperation.

In this regard, the Equatorial Guinean minister told Doña that what was shown in Havana was very useful, and returned with a group of proposals that will appreciate to receive more collaboration from Cuba in benefit of the Horizon 2020 national development program.

Other Equatorial Guinean officials and representatives of the diplomatic staff and of Havana cooperation in Malabo, attended the meeting.
