Angolan and Cuban Vice Presidents hold official talks

Cuban First Vice President Miguel Díaz-Canel today May 18 received Angola’s Vice President, the honorable Manuel Domingos Vicente, who is making an official visit to the country.

During their meeting, the leaders discussed the excellent bilateral relations shared by the two countries and emphasized the historic nature of the friendship between their peoples and governments. They reviewed progress in the development of cooperation in the areas of health, education, construction and the military, while additionally addressing a number of international issues.

Accompanying the distinguished guest was José Van Dunem, minister of Health; Mpinda Simao, from the Ministry of Education; Adao Do Nascimento, Higher Education; Secreatry of State for Foreign Relations Manuel Domingos Augusto; and the country’s ambassador in Cuba, César Augusto Kiluanje.

Also present on the Cuban side were Ricardo Cabrisas Ruiz, a Council of Ministers vice president; the president of the Institute for Cooperation with Angola, General Luis Alberto Rodríguez López-Callejas; Rogelio Sierra Díaz, deputy minister of Foreign Relations, and Cuba’s ambassador in Angola, Gisela García Rivera.

The Angolan Vice President met previously with Ricardo Cabrisas Ruiz, at the Council of Ministers headquarters, to discuss the development of cooperative efforts in a number of areas, and address international issues.
