Also participating are Lazaro Exposito, member of the Central Committee of the PCC and its first secretary in the province and other leaders of the government, mass and youth organizations.

Present at the platform of the Antonio Maceo Revolution Square of this city are Labor Heroes, trade union leaders, distinguished workers and farmers, veterans and founders of the Cuban Workers Confederation, and delegations composed of foreigners that are friends of the island.

Huge Cuban and 26 of July flags flutter in the historic square, and people carry signs allegorical to the work of locals on the occasion of the 500th anniversary of the founding of the town and the 62nd anniversary of the attack on the Moncada barracks, along with banners with the slogan United in the Construction of Socialism, characterizing this year's celebrations.

Dense groups of men and women, many of them wearing clothes with the colors of the Cuban flag –red, white and blue- opened very early this morning the patriotic march down Parade Avenue, main entrance to the city.
