The Cuban capital reported a high temperature record for March, registering yesterday a maximum of 35.3 degrees Celsius and surpassing the previous monthly primacy, established in 1928, Granma newspaper stated today.

The high temperature record for March at the Casablanca weather station in Havana, broke yesterday shortly after one o'clock in the afternoon, surpassing 33.8 degrees Celcius, registered on March 29, 1928, said Jose Rubiera, director of the Weather Prediction Center of the Institute of Meteorology.

According to climate reports, after the predominance of warm conditions for many weeks, a cold front is expected to reach the western Cuban region early Saturday, causing a drop in temperature that could be extended to the country's central area on Sunday.
