Twenty Cuban young professionals related to veterinary science arrived today in this city to study dairy techniques and other disciplines. The Cubans will study at the Labor University of Uruguay (UTU) in Nueva Helvecia, a city in the western department of Colonia, located 120 kilometers from this capital.
According to the Ministry of Education and Culture (MEC), they will learn there everything regarding the national dairy sector, from how the milking yard operates to its industrialization.
The Cuban group of professionals was welcomed by MEC authorities and Cuba's Ambassador to Uruguay Mercedes Vicente Sotolongo.
The arrival of the students is in the context of the agreement for strengthening bilateral relations between both governments.
The UTU and the Technological University (UTEC) are the entities in charge of articulating a training program with the highest quality standards for the Cuban students.
