Cuban students and professors will for the first time present a racer robot (autonomous small-scale vehicle) at an international robotics competition, in the category of Fastest Line follower of national design and construction.
Named Palmiche, the robot was developed by students and professors of the Robotics and Mechatronics Group (GRM) of the Jose Antonio Echeverria Technological University of Havana (CUJAE), in collaboration with the Faculty of Architecture and Automation.
Palmiche will participate in the 2019 Robotics Competition, which will be held from November 20 to 23, at the Federico Santa Maria Technical University, in Chile.
Participants in this event could qualify for a world competition in Japan, which is recognized as the highest level of these events.
The GRM is currently perfecting Palmiche to gain speed and autonomy, group Coordinator Ivon Oristela Benitez told Granma.
