Moscow, Oct 28 (Prensa Latina) The Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov urged the UN to reject the hysteria of lies unleashed against his country as a result of the counter-terrorist operation in Syria, especially in the cities of Aleppo and Idlib.

After meeting in Moscow with his counterparts from Syria, Valid Muallam, and Iran, Chabad Zarif, the Russian Minister confirmed Moscow's decision to fight terrorism to the end.

'We must eliminate the terrorists,' said Lavrov, who said that unlike the West, which only fights them in words, 'Russia intends to do so in the practice and see that task to its end.'

Lavrov said that Moscow wishes to apply, along with Iraq, measures to prevent the escape of members of the terrorist movement Islamic State (ISIS) from the Iraqi city of Mosul, which would further complicate the situation in Syria.

An international coalition led by the United States supports from the air an operation conducted by Iraqi troops, Kurdish militia and other forces to drive about 60 thousand members of ISIS from Mosul, where more than 60 civilians were killed in a few days.

The head of Russian diplomacy said that that the possibility to separate the terrorists from what the West considers 'moderate opposition' has failed.

The extremists prevent the population from fleeing the city via humanitarian corridors, which they rake with gunfire repeatedly, denounced the minister.

Lavrov reminded that there are resolutions of the UN Security Council prohibiting lending support to armed groups from abroad; therefore, any such action violates the provisions of the United Nations.

He said the responsibility for the worsening of the lives of the Syrians not only rests with the terrorists, but also in the West and its policy of sanctions against Syria.

The minister estimated that the tripartite meeting allowed exchanging views on ways to implement the resolution 2254 of the UN Security Council, including the start of an inter-Syrian dialogue.
