Cuban judoka Idalis Ortiz ended the year 2014 in the top of the world ranking, and occupied the 6th place among the athletes of all divisions, as stated by the International Judo Federation Wednesday. Ortiz, from the Cuban western province of Artemisa, and now the current Olympic and Pan American Champion, got 2,808 points in the universal ranking, established in 2014. She was also the best Cuban athlete in individual sports in 2014, after getting her 2nd world title and the crown of the Central American and Caribbean Games in Veracruz, Mexico.

The leaders of the general classification (male and female)are Kosovar Majlinda Kelmendi, 52 kilos and 4,230 units, and Georgian Avtandili Tchrikisvili, from the 81 kilogram category, and 3,610 points, respectively.

Ahead the Caribbean athlete, there are also Agbegnenou Clarisse (France-63 kilos-3,510 points), Urantsetseg Munkhbat (Mongolia-48 kgs-3,180), Yarden Gerbi (Israel-63 kgs-2,952), and Kim Polling (Holland-70kg-2,862), in that order.

In the male, the second to sixth were for Boldbaatar Ganbat (Mongolia-60 kilos-2,676 points), Lukas Krpalek (Czech Republic-100 kgs-2,568), Teddy Riner (France-over 100 kgs-2,500 ), Varlam Liparteliani (Georgia-90 kgs-2,470) and Rafael Silva (Brazil-over 100 kgs-2,302).

The IJF recognized other winners of their categories, such as Autonne Pavia (France-57 kilos) and Audrey Tchemeu (France-78 kgs) by the women, and Dex Elmont (Netherlands-73 kgs) and Mikhail Pulyaev (Russia-66 kgs) by men.
