Special Olympic Swimmers Will Go to Toronto Pan/Parapan American Games

The International Paranational Open will take place from Oct 31 to Nov 7 this year in Playa del Carmen, Mexico.
The best Mexican swimmers, among them, special Olympic multi-medalist Gustavo Sanchez will compete for selection in the upcoming Pan/Parapan American Games in Toronto as well as the ITC world championships in Scotland next year.
Among the Special Olympics stars participating in the competition are Patricia Valle, Arnulfo Castorena, Doramitzi Gonzalez and Pedro Rangel, all among 185 swimmers from nine countries who will be competing to be selected for the regional Toronto games in 2015.
Swimmers from Colombia, Russia, Ecuador, Argentina, Arab Emirates, Singapore and Egypt will be vying for their spot in the Toronto games at the Playa del Carmen open. All nations except Egypt have confirmed their participation in the meet.
The Mexican swimmers will be accompanied by the President of Mexico’s Para-Olympic Committee Pablo Larraga, and the qualified sports subdirector of the National System of Culture and Sports, Othon Diaz.
The swimmers were selected by athletic associations for the blind and visually impaired, of special sports activities, in wheelchairs and with cerebral palsy.
