The women's triple jump, a specialty that has among its elite figures two Cubans, will be one of the scoring disciplines in the World Athletics Indoor Tour 2025, announced Wednesday with a record 61 meetings at all levels.

Divided into gold, silver, or bronze rallies, the winter track and field circuit will celebrate its tenth edition starting on January 2 with the convening in Tallinn, Estonia, and is scheduled to end on March 13 in Uppsala, Sweden.

Its calendar will serve as a prelude to the World Indoor Athletics Championships in Nanjing 2025, scheduled for March 21-23 in that Chinese city, where it is very likely that the triathletes Leyanis Perez and Liadagmis Povea will represent the island.

The former will arrive as one of the winners in the Glasgow 2024 edition, when she won the silver medal, and her teammate finished fifth in the Olympic competition held months later in Paris.

The World Athletics announcement indicates that the gold level of the circuit will comprise nine meetings. This category includes the Amin Tuyakov Prize (January 25), in the Kazakh city of Astana, along with the meetings in Belgrade (January 29), Boston (February 2), Ostrava (February 4), and Karlsruhe (February 7).

The segment will be completed by the rallies in New York (8 February), Lievin (13 February), Torun (16 February), and Madrid (28 February).

At each stop, points will be awarded for the final ranking, although only the three best results throughout the circuit will be compiled to define the winners of each specialty.

In addition to the triple jump, this time the women will compete for prizes in the 60, 800, and 3,000/5,000 meter events, as well as the pole vault and shot put.

Among men, the best in the 400, 1 500 meters, 60 meter hurdles, high jump, and long jump will be recognized.

In addition to the cash prizes, the winners in each gender will secure their place at the world championships in Nanjing.

As every year, the prestigious winter circuit will also serve as preparation for the main outdoor events of the season, including the World Athletics Championships in Tokyo 2025, from September 13 to 21.
