Caracas, Jan 1 (Prensa Latina) The president of Venezuela, Nicolas Maduro, sent a message of admiration and commitment to the people and the Government of Cuba, on the occasion of the 62nd anniversary of the triumph of the Revolution.

The Bolivarian Executive issued a statement recalling the victory of the Rebel Army over the dictatorship of Fulgencio Batista on January 1, 1959.

Sixty-two years later, 'the expansive wave of that colossal triumph still raises the awareness of the humble, and shakes the structures of capitalism in Our America and the world,' Venezuelan authorities stressed.

They also highlighted the admirable lessons of solidarity and scientific development provided by Cuba in a challenging year for humanity such as 2020.

While the northern countries show serious mortality figures due to the Covid-19 pandemic, Cuba is carrying out an efficient epidemiological control that shows the strength of its public health model, the Government of Venezuela highlighted.

Likewise, the Venezuelan Government praised the deployment of Cuban medical brigades in dozens of countries to support the fight against the Covid-19 pandemic, in addition to the solid progress in the development of four vaccine candidates against the coronavirus, which will be at the service of humanity.

Venezuela also paid tribute to the historic leader of the Cuban Revolution, Fidel Castro (1926-2016), and reiterated its message of solidarity with the new generations who keep the struggle alive and vibrant, under the guidance of Army General Raul Castro Ruz and the renewed leadership of President Miguel Díaz-Canel.
